A Big Thank You

Yesterday in my Law Enforcement and Society (and my Criminal Investigations) class we were talking about a shooting that happened here in Fort Collins.  It really got me thinking about society these days.  I started to think about how people still do so many bad things even though there are consequences for all of them.  Even down to something as simple as not fully stopping at a stop sign.  At first I was confused we all do all of these things when we know we technically "shouldn't."  I mean there is not a single person in this world that has not broken at least ONE rule. Once I really got to thinking about it though I decided I'm really, really glad we all do break these rules all the time.  I mean how creepy would a world be where everyone did everything they were supposed to all the time? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we should all go start a riot in the street and that murders and rape are okay but I just think it is good that we all don't follow the rules.  To an extent, breaking the rules is good.

Which also made me realize how much credit the police forces deserve, but so rarely get. Its really not fair because obviously they do truly protect and serve all citizens, and they rarely get the appreciation they deserve for it. I mean these people seriously save lives everyday, they make our world such a better place. So I just want to give a big thanks to all of the police officers out there and show them some much needed gratitude.
